NICEIC is the electrical contracting industry’s independent voluntary body for electrical installation matters throughout the UK.
The Electrical Safety Council is an independent non-proft-making organisation, registered as a charity, set up to protect the safety of consumers. Supported by all sectors of the electrical industry as well as local and central government, they deal with all electrical safety matters on behalf of consumers.
The scheme offered here was approved by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister in July 2004. The firms registered with this scheme are electrical installers who have been approved to self-certify that their work complies with the Building Regulations.
Cash-strapped Brits attempting electrical DIY are being urged to think again or risk putting themselves in danger and leaving their homes illegal.
‘Don’t take the P out of your home’ is a new campaign from Linda Barker and NICEIC. It aims to make homeowners aware that for electrical work in their home to be safe and legal they must use a qualified electrician and ensure that work complies with Part P of the Building Regulations.
